4 Month Appointment

I took Maddie for her 4 month appointment yesterday and everything went well. Dr. Knights was impressed with her trunk control and said she guessed she would be sitting up by 6 months. She also said that since she is already rolling over and holding her chest completely off the floor while on her stomach that she might be an early crawler and even threw out 6 months as a guess. I'm so not ready for that, for a number of reasons! She said we could start rice cereal at any point now but since breastfeeding is going so well and is really easy I don't plan to start solids for another month or two. It was nice to have an appointment to confirm that Maddie's ear infection is gone. M is grabbing her feet, which she said that is what most 6 month olds start doing. Jacob and I are convinced that Madeleine is a genius. ;)

Here are her stats:

Weight: 13 lbs 4 oz (50%)
Height: 24 inches (50%)
Head: 16 inches (45%)

Madeleine is right in the middle across the board meaning she is right on track. She is just now outgrowing her 0-3 clothes (several dresses and onsies still fit) but is fitting in most of her 3-6 month clothes too. The pediatrician said that because M is a bit small it is probably why she is so flexible being able to pull her feet almost all the way up to her head while we're changing her diaper, etc.

She got 2 shots and an oral vaccine just like at 2 months. After the first shot she didn't cry but she definitely did after the second one. However, she calmed down and smiled at the nurse before she left the room. I went ahead and gave her Tylenol before I left the office just because she had such a tough time at 2 months. When we got home she took a 3 hour nap and she slept until 8:45 this morning and is happy and smiling.
