We took Maddie to the pediatrician for the first time just 2 days after coming home from the hospital (6/16/2011). At that point she had regained her birth weight and we were told we didn't have to wake her every 3 hours to eat at night but that we could push it to 4. It was music to our ears. We set an alarm a few nights but we have come to find she will wake up on her own around 4-5 hours from when we first go upstairs and around every 3 hours after that.
The day we took Maddie her umbilical cord had just fallen off and while the Dr mentioned it we never ended up putting silver nitrate on it (it was open just a touch). We took her back the next day to have the nitrate put on and it has healed up nicely. She got her first tub bath on Wednesday 6/22 and she hated it a lot less than the sponge baths. :)
I took Maddie back to the pediatrician on Wednesday 6/29 to have her weighed at their suggestion since she has started eating more quickly. As they suspected she has just gotten more efficient because she is up to 8 lbs 13 oz, which is a perfect weight gain of 1 oz a day.
